Music at the Mansion is thrilled to invite you to a special evening of jazz featuring The Benny Russell Quartet at the Liriodendron Mansion on Thursday, August 12 from 6 to 8 pm. 

The Quartet, led by saxophonist Benny Russell, features Justin Taylor on piano, Eddie Hrybyk on bass, and Jess Jay Moody on drums.

Russell, a renowned musician and recording artist, has taught at Harford Community College since 2015. His long, successful career includes composing, arranging, and performing with music greats Harry Belafonte, Dan Aykroyd, Little Jimmy Scott, Lou Reed, Etta James, and more. A graduate of Morgan State University, Russell previously chaired the jazz division at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, where he also taught jazz history, and chaired the Jazz department at the Maryland Conservatory of Music.

We look forward to an evening of jazz on the beautiful grounds of the Liriodendron Mansion with these amazing musicians!

The concert will be held outdoors, with plenty of room for social distancing. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. 

Bring a picnic blanket or lawn chairs – chairs not provided. If you have limited mobility, please contact us to arrange for special seating.

Grounds open at 5:00. Concert begins at 6 pm.

Tickets are $12 for adults. Kids 12 and under admitted free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
