2023 marks an exciting milestone for the Liriodendron Mansion – we are turning 125! To celebrate this important milestone, the non-profit Liriodendron Foundation is undertaking a program to reimagine and renovate our museum rooms, and create new and engaging exhibit spaces throughout the mansion and grounds. 

This museum update and expansion will provide our visitors of all ages and backgrounds with a fun and fascinating look at the wide range of legacies of Dr. Howard Atwood Kelly and the Kelly family, a deep dive into local history, and a glimpse of life in Harford County in the late 1800s and early 1900s.  

We have partnered with Quatrefoil Associates – a renowned design firm – to help us create an immersive, fully accessible, and thought-provoking experience for all our visitors – whether taking part in a wedding, visiting our gallery, enjoying our beautiful grounds, or attending a concert. The project will transform our existing museum rooms – which have not been redesigned in almost 40 years – and create new museum elements which will feature interactive elements, digital content, fun activities, and historical artifacts.
