Recently retired Head of Paintings Conservation at The Walters Art Museum – Eric Gordon – has been collecting this uniquely North American folk art for the past forty years. The rugs in this collection date from the 1880’s to mid 20th century, geographically representing Canada, New England, the Mid-Atlantic, the deep South and the Midwest, with designs ranging from pictorial to floral to geometric.

The exhibit opens on Sunday, November 13 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, and will be on view every Wednesday in November & December from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and on Sunday, December 11 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
