Livestream Concert: Music at the Mansion Presents SONiA disappear fear @ Livestream on Zoom and Facebook
May 2 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

The Liriodendron Foundation is thrilled to welcome SONiA disappear fear back to its Music at the Mansion concert series! The award-winning artist will play a free livestream concert on Sunday, May 2 from 7 to 8 pm on Zoom and Facebook.

Throughout the 1990s, SONiA disappear fear was widely recognized as one of the most dynamic bands in folk-rock, touring and releasing 5 acclaimed albums and winning over fans with her energetic conscience-driven music. Now with 21 albums out, SONiA will share with our audience what she has always done best: powerful songs that challenge injustice, performed with passion and hope.

A world-class composer and artist, SONiA is the recipient of multiple awards, including the Coin of Honor from a joint coalition of United States military for her humanitarian efforts, the GLAMA (Gay and Lesbian Music Awards) for Female Artist of the year and the GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian American Anti Defamation) Award for Best Album. Her songs span multiple languages, cultures, and genres. From the Opera House in Sydney to the bomb shelters in the Middle East to the Kerrville Folk Festival, SONiA has shared stages and studios with many of her heroes including Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, Nickel Creek, Green Day, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow, Lucinda Williams, Joan Jett, and many more.

We are thrilled to have SONiA return to the virtual Music at the Mansion stage!  This is a show you don’t want to miss.

Livestream Concert: Music at the Mansion Presents Yoshi Horiguchi @ Livestream on Zoom and Facebook
Jun 6 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

The Liriodendron Foundation is thrilled to welcome Yoshi Horiguchi to the virtual Music at the Mansion stage for a free livestream concert on Sunday, June 6 from 7 to 8 pm on Zoom and Facebook.

Acclaimed by the Baltimore Sun for his ability to perform with a “dazzling display of dexterity and panache”, Yoshi Horiguchi is a double bassist who plays outside the lines. Although classically trained, his endeavors span across a broad spectrum of genres having performed in concert halls with the National Philharmonic and Alarm Will Sound, hip-hop clubs with the Baltimore Boom Bap Society, dance halls with The Hungry Monks Swing Band, smoke-filled bars with Classical Revolution, and more. Yoshi is currently the bassist for the National Chamber Winds, was a founding member of Trio Jinx, and has collaborated with a broad range of artists such as Zuill Bailey, Judith Ingolfsson, Hal Robinson, Alex Fiterstein, Michael Kannen, Wendel Patrick, Shodekeh, Don Vappie, Tony Arnold, Lauren Ruth Ward, and more. Yoshi has also performed at the Sitka Summer Music Festival, Iowa Great Lakes Festival, Mesa Arts Center, El Paso Pro Musica, the Kennedy Center, among others.

In addition to being an active performer, Yoshi is an educator, pedagogue, and string specialist. He has served on the faculty for the Baltimore Symphony’s, El Sistema inspired, ORCHkids program, Bass Works, the Peabody Preparatory, American Music System Camps, York College of PA, UMBC, the International Society of Bassists Young Bassists division, and more.  His passion and drive for students to study pedagogically beneficial and accessible music has inspired him to arrange works that are being performed throughout the United States and beyond.

Believing in recitals outside of the typical “formal performance,” Yoshi’s performances involve audience collaboration, allowing the audience to have a clearer idea of what is going on in the mind and the heart of the performer, resulting in a more holistic experience

We are excited to present this dynamic performer to the Music at the Mansion audience!
