Liriodendron's
History The Arbor Manor School for Boys ![]() |
Anecdotal evidence provides the few remaining details about the ill-fated school. Arbor Manor was begun in the 1940s. Possibly two students enrolled. The school never opened. But the guidebook offers a fascinating glimpse into the mansion at a time when it still retained a residential flavor. |

About the images The images on this page are from the guidebook. Photos are blown up in their full-sized versions to show details of the grounds and rooms. Click on any picture to see the enlarged version. Some of the eight grouped outdoor/indoor photos have been retouched - the original layout had the corners of some photos overlapping the corners of others. |
| The outdoor photos below reveal the original purpose of the mansion and grounds - as a summer home for a family with nine children. This was one big play space! |
| The indoor photos below show the home in use. Compare to photos from the 1970s, when Fritz Kelly and his wife Peggy were residing in the mansion. |
