Jack Radcliffe, Alison Radcliffe, Dave DeRan

The Liriodendron is proud to feature the works of Jack Radcliffe, Alison Radcliffe, and Dave DeRan in our current exhibit, opening on Sunday, March 31 and running through Sunday, April 28.

Jack Radcliffe approaches his subjects with an unavoidable compassion and insight. With his sensitivity towards his subjects, the layer of textures he finds with his camera lens, and the richness of tone he achieves with his skillful printing, his portraits mesmerize the viewer with their depth and world-worn vulnerability and innocence. Jack’s work has been exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, and the Baltimore Museum of Art.

Alison Radcliffe says of her work: “Art and music are my tools to investigate the human condition. Uniting these two art forms, my task is to present a coherent expression of the universal experience of joy and sorrow. I approach the past and the present as one state of being, and seek answers with artifacts from my imagination as well as engaging interactive social dialogue through portraiture.

Dave DeRan’s artwork includes watercolors, acrylics, oils, pen & ink drawings, along with assemblages, and sculptures.  Featuring farm, woodland and water scenes, his works have been referred to as “rural realism” but he also has works with a more primitive look.  Dave has illustrated several books, short stories, and CD covers.

Visit the Liriodendron on Sundays (1 to 4 pm) and Wednesdays (1 to 7 pm) to see how these three artists, each with their own unique viewpoint, share a connection.

A free opening reception, with live music by Alison Radcliffe and Late for Supper, will be held on Sunday, March 31 from 1 to 4 pm.

The sculptures of Alice Redmond, and woodworks by Tom Jones will also be on display during this exhibit.
